Collecting trucks began in 1997 after attending the national ATHS show with my dad in Greensboro. I bought an old 1960 White with intentions of restoring it but never got around to it. However, I still had my main interest in old Macks, mainly because it was the kind of truck I had first ridden in as a kid. With that in mind, I bought a B-61 Mack to restore. The restoration of the truck must have impressed others because I had a lot of people contact me about finding more trucks to restore. Since then, I have sold various old trucks of all sizes and models.

With my success restoring the B-61, I wanted to start on my next project, an H-Model Mack. The model was a 1954 H-63 Hennis Freight Lines truck that I found near Winston Salem, NC. I continued with a 1964 IH Emeryville, an ex-Safeway grocery truck, that I purchased from Cliff Hicklin in Delaware. We met through the Wheels of Time ads and have been trading ever since!

A couple years ago, I found a rust free 1969 R-700 Mack just like Uncle Alfred drove. I restored it to near new condition working on it for about a year. I had it painted red like the one I remember riding in as a kid. I am finishing up a 1978 Peterbilt 359 daycab, which I call the “Gangster Pete”. The 8" stacks are awesome for flame throwing!

Smokey and the Bandit Tribute

1974 W900 Kenworth

My first restoration is by far my proudest accomplishment. This Mack has won many awards at truck shows. She was our limousine from our wedding this summer. She got as many looks as my beautiful bride riding through town! Click on text above to see pictures of the work done on this Mack.

This project was a group effort. It was a "Trick My Truck" style surprise for a good friend. This 1978 Peterbilt ran for Century Furniture in Hickory, NC.
